At the beginning of the year, much was expected of Kevin Harvick. After racing for the first twelve years with Richard Childress Racing, Harvick jumped ship for a ride with Stewart-Haas Racing. Saddled with power plants and chassis from Hendrick Motorsports, and the high expectations of winning, Kevin Harvick weathered the storm and captured the win at the Ford Ecoboost 400. and with it, his first career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship.


It started with a caution. With the laps winding down at the Texas AAA 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway, Jeff Gordon ,was running away with what looked like his fifth win of the season, and a free ticket into the Championship four showdown at Homestead-Miami Speedway. “Why do you like racing?” That’s the question you hear the most when you’re an African American fan of the fastest sport on earth. While simple on paper, it’s never been an easy to question for me to answer. Where did my love for racing get it’s start?


If Sebastian Vettel wins in Italy on Sunday does it well and truly mean that the title race is over for another year? He is already in a strong position in the standings and as he is usually strong in the Asian races that are yet to come if he takes the win at Monza should we expect championship number four for Seb.
